Wendy is an experienced health and safety professional who has been working in the specialised housing and care sector for the last four years.
Before coming to Canford Healthcare she ran a construction health and safety training company, worked as a practice manager within a large NHS GP surgery and managed the commercial activities of a religious site.
As Health & Safety Manager for Canford Healthcare Wendy works closely with colleagues across the homes and support offices to ensure that all environments are safe and healthy for our residents, employees and visitors. She also carries out Fire Risk Assessments for the homes, working closely with local fire officers to meet all our legislative requirements for fire safety.
Wendy is a member of several professional associations that are key for her role – the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH), the Institute of Fire Engineers and the Institute of Fire Safety Managers. Although Wendy has so far enjoyed a varied and interesting career, she has a particular passion for fire and health and safety.
