Stephen is a commercially orientated finance leader with a strong track record of delivery and expertise.
After gaining a degree in mathematical studies from Sheffield University, Stephen trained as a chartered accountant at BDO Binder Hamlyn (the world’s fifth largest accountancy network) where he rose to become a manager. He has since performed key roles at a senior level in a very wide range of industries including healthcare, waste management/utilities, contracting, energy, construction, house building, financial services, insurance, fine art, recruitment and education.
He joined Canford Healthcare in 2017 as Chief Financial Officer, becoming Finance Director two years later. As well as chairing the Corporate Risk Committee and providing financial advice and guidance to the senior management team, Stephen runs the finance and payroll functions. Based in Bournemouth, the finance team provides valuable support to Canford Healthcare’s 11 homes.
